Feyter Industrial Service is active in 3D CAD design, engineering and construction of machinery and machine parts. The company specialises in machining, mechanical engineering, industrial services and steel construction. Innovation holds an important place within the company. Crombeen Robotics is a young company with creative ideas focused on technical innovations in all kinds of sectors. Its specialisation focuses on mechanical design for both large constructions and fine, precise applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together, as the Feyter\/Crombeen combination, they are focusing on developing a prototype for the \u2018Mechanical machining\u2019 category. They do not want to limit themselves to developing a robot that can cut pipes. Such a prototype, a sawing tool, has already been made. Feyter\/Crombeen is taking on the challenge of developing a prototype that can also remove weld seams and re-weld them, seal cracks in base plates, and clean pitting corrosion in a tank, either by welding or covering it with a patch plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Feyter\/Crombeen will use a crawler from fellow participant ID-Tec as a base. A robot arm will be mounted on this. The two biggest challenges in the entire project will be developing software to achieve an exceptionally high degree of precision (down to a millimetre) and making the existing welding robot smaller and lighter so that it can fit through 24-inch manholes and be transported via a crawler.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
