The target group consists of individuals who can still stand but cannot walk independently, and who are often dependent on a carer or family caregiver for toilet visits. As toilet visits are an unpredictable care need, the loss of independence in this area is often a direct reason for admission to a care institution. These functions are made possible by a combination of robotics and interactive technology. The technical feasibility has been substantiated with motion analyses, user tests, and an extensive preliminary study conducted by students from Avans University of Applied Sciences. The demonstrator is currently at TRL 5\/6 and has been tested in a representative care environment. The initial results are promising and show that the system genuinely contributes to greater independence and dignity for the user.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-group twee paddingtopbottom3 has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<article class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project partners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is a collaboration between various partners, each with their own expertise. Delmeco is responsible for the technical development and construction of the demonstrator. Groenhuysen provides practical knowledge about the target group and conducts movement analyses. GBO contributes to the design and ergonomics of the assistive device. Avans University of Applied Sciences is involved through practice-oriented research and the deployment of students. Breda Robotics coordinates the project and monitors progress within the broader New Technology innovation programme.
