Innovation for Defence and Society
The R&D project Dual-Use Defence West Brabant focuses on exploring and strengthening innovative dual-use applications: technologies that are deployable for both civilian and military purposes. The focus is on Maintenance in logistics, with the use of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Introduction
West Brabant boasts strong companies, knowledge institutions and collaborative networks that are already active in logistics, maintenance and smart technology. In this project, partners are bringing this knowledge and experience together to investigate where the greatest opportunities lie for Defence and for societal applications, such as in healthcare, infrastructure and industry.
The project yields insight into:
- de Strengths and opportunities of West Brabant as dual-use region;
- promising technologies and applications for Defence's continuity;
- de societal, economic and spatial impact for the region;
- a joint Roadmap towards concrete follow-up projects and pilots.
The project is being carried out by Breda Robotics Foundation together with, among others, municipalities, knowledge institutions, companies and Defence-related partners, and forms an important step in the positioning of West Brabant as innovative dual-use region.
