Cyber-Resilient SMEs

This morning, you might have started with email, planning, and a cup of coffee. Imagine: you click open your CRM… and nothing works. Files locked. Orders on hold. Customers worried. Not because you did anything wrong, but because someone else intended it. Too often, we only hear this story afterwards. And too often, business owners say: “I knew I needed to do something about it, but where do you even start?”

Worry-free entrepreneurship begins with a strong digital foundation. On Friday, 13th March, discover with experts how to get a grip on your digital security.

Cyber Solutions Square 

You can visit the Cybersolutions Plaza throughout the event, including during lunch. Here, a number of expert companies and organisations from the region will be present, with whom you can easily make contact and discuss your questions. This way, you can immediately take the next step to gain more control over your digital security.

This is more than just a cyber event. It's about building a cyber-resilient West Brabant together, with entrepreneurs, government, and education working side-by-side.

For whom

This meeting is intended for entrepreneurs from West Brabant. It is primarily aimed at SME entrepreneurs; one in five falls victim to cybercrime, which can bring their business to a standstill and lead to reputational damage and financial loss.

Break-out sessions

When registering, you will choose two break-out sessions. Each break-out session has a capacity of 25 participants. 

1. Attic Security Hackers don't break in, they just log in
   • We will explain in an understandable way how cybercriminals operate today. No viruses, no exciting hacks: just logging in. And we will offer a glimpse into the dark web, where a lively trade takes place in mutual services and stolen login details and data.
2. Interpol – How do criminals get in, what are they after, and what are the consequences? But also, how do you ensure you can continue to do business after a hack. Interpolis and Panik Button will tell you more about it.
   • A hack after all? You’ll have access to your most important data and processes again within an hour.
3. Van Oers – How do you stay on top of things at a time when cyber threats are on the rise and digital technologies, such as AI, are developing at breakneck speed?

     In this breakout session, you'll discover how to seize the opportunities of digitalisation without losing sight of the risks. Using practical examples, we will demonstrate how organisations can implement digital innovation responsibly and manageably. Be inspired and leave with concrete insights to stay in control. And of course, to get started straight away tomorrow!
4. Avans University of Applied Sciences – The route to true cyber resilience — discover, share and grow together! How do you make your organisation digitally resilient in an ever-changing world? No dry theory, but recognisable situations, practical insights and examples.
   • Why is it important to optimise cyber resilience, what makes this difficult, and what can we learn from others who have already successfully taken steps to increase their cyber resilience?.
5. Digiweerbaar.nl – Cybercrime unmasked: discover the risks for businesses in Breda! How do cybercriminals operate, what clever tricks do they use, and why is the SME sector in and around Breda an attractive target.
   • A clear picture of current cyber threats, how cybercriminals think and operate, and concrete steps you can take today to make your organisation digitally safer. Leave with practical tips and insights that are immediately applicable – regardless of the size or digital maturity of your business.
6. Ericsson – During this breakout session, Ericsson Netherlands will take you through the latest developments in mobile communications. We will explore key topics such as security in mobile networks, the impact of European regulations – including the European AI Act and NIS2 – and the opportunities and applications of private 5G networks. 
   • Using examples and insights, we’ll show how organisations can prepare for a secure, compliant and innovative mobile ecosystem.
7. National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) – How cyber-resilient is your business? The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) explains the key risks to secure (digital) business operations, but more importantly: what you can do to address them.
   • The Cyber Security Check: how is your basic security?, The 5 basic principles of secure entrepreneurship, Useful tools and products, Subsidy options for cyber resilience, the online NCSC community: talk to each other about cyber resilience.
