Project information

In this project, a vertical farm was developed for the cultivation of lettuce, specifically intended for the hospitality sector. This solution creates a short supply chain, allowing the lettuce to be served fresh directly to the customer.

What has been realised?

The project group has developed software that can be integrated with various hardware components, enabling the vertical farm to operate autonomously. The project began with an extensive analysis and a global design. Subsequently, the team further developed this design and ultimately realised a working version that can be used as a demonstration.

What has been learned?

The project group learned to handle situations where parts deliveries failed to arrive. Despite these challenges, they succeeded in setting up a functional system by improvising with hardware components. With this, they have laid a solid foundation on which a subsequent group can build.
