Project information
In this project, an algorithm has been developed to compactly stack pill boxes in a carton. The aim is to pack as efficiently as possible.
What has been realised?
Within the project, a robot cell has been realised, equipped with a robot, camera system and a conveyor belt. When a product (the pill box) is delivered, the conveyor belt is activated. As soon as the product is positioned under the camera, its dimensions are determined. By means of an algorithm, it is determined how the product can be stacked in a large box by a robot. When stacking the products, the dimensions of the product are taken into account, so that as many products as possible fit in the box.
What has been learned?
The project group has learned how to control a robot using system vision (image recognition). The students have learned a great deal about how a robot can be controlled. In addition, they have gained knowledge about algorithms.
