Project Information

In collaboration with Unitron Group BV, a medical device manufacturer, students have worked on an innovative assignment: developing an automated quality control solution for purchased housing components. The objective was to design a robotics solution that independently performs quality checks – efficiently, accurately, and scalably.

What has been realised?

Within the project, a robot has been developed that automatically inspects parts for quality using sensors and software. The robot can independently detect and report deviations, thereby reducing manual checks and increasing the reliability of the production process. The solution has been designed with scalability in mind, allowing it to be easily implemented across different production lines.

What have they learned?

The project group has learned how robotics can be deployed for quality control within an industrial context. They have gained experience in integrating hardware and software, analysing visual data, and developing algorithms for fault detection. Through close collaboration with Unitron Group BV, the students have gained valuable insights into product development, collaboration with businesses, and the management of technical projects.
