Project information
This project concerns the development of a new model of the E-Vario Weeder: an autonomous machine that can remove weeds between, and in close proximity to, rows of plants.
What has been realised?
As part of this project, various cameras have been implemented on the machine. These cameras detect plants that should not be removed, with blades being controlled to move around these plants. Furthermore, a dashboard has been developed which allows the operator to control the machine via a tablet. The project group is particularly proud of the final result, in which all required functionalities have been integrated. Several tests with the concept have been carried out, during which the concept proved to work very well after the tests. The group has also prepared extensive documentation and handed it over to the client.
A few points still need to be optimised, which the client will address further.
What has been learned?
The project group has particularly learned a great deal about collaboration across different disciplines. Through discussions and clear argumentation, they managed to avoid conflicts and reach agreements. Furthermore, they have learned that documentation is essential for handover and further development.
