Project information  

In this project, software has been developed to control a robotic dog for carrying out inspections. A robot is used to inspect installations for defects in potentially explosive environments. By applying autonomous inspection, dangerous situations can be prevented and the costs of inspections can be reduced. 

What has been realised?

 

Within the project, software has been developed for the robot. This allows the robot to autonomously navigate on different types of terrain, such as on the road, up stairs and in narrow corridors. ROS (Robot Operating System) was used in the project for communication with the robot. Commands can be given to the robot to navigate to different positions. 

What has been learned?

 

The project group is most proud of the foundation they have laid for the next group. In doing so, they have learned a great deal about how the ROS software environment works and its capabilities. Through collaboration, they have been able to develop a working concept.
